Mr. Sal Talarico is the Finance Director for the City of
Oberlin and manages the city’s finance department. He has served the
City of Oberlin for 17 years, and a total of 25 years in the public
sector. The finance department is responsible for financial reporting,
liability, property and health insurances, utility billing, revenue
collections, accounts payable, payroll, treasury and investment
management, income tax collections and administration, and debt
management.
Prior to working with the City of Oberlin, Mr. Talarico was the
Deputy Auditor for the City of Parma. Additional experience includes
serving as an internal/corporate auditor in the private sector for 8
years. Mr. Talarico earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in
Accounting from Cleveland State University and is also a Certified
Public Finance Administrator. He is a member, and past-president, of the
Ohio Association of Public Treasurers, and currently its Director of
Education. He also serves as Chairman of the BORMA Health consortium and
is a member of other professional organizations. Mr. Talarico also
serves his church, as member of their finance council and a regular
volunteer, and handles financial matters for the local council of the
Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Talarico enjoys spending time with his wife, Tracy, and their
two daughters, Alicia and Anna. He also enjoys walking/hiking the Metro
park trails with his wife, bicycling, and spending time outdoors.
